DREAMGIRLS,

the musical sensation

From the very first beats of Henry Krieger’s score, this new staging of Dreamgirls roars out of the opening gate and never slows down. I can’t think of another Broadway musical that goes from 0 to 60 mph in ten seconds and maintains that pace for a solid two and a half hours. It incorporates all the magic of live theater in ways that will leave audiences nearly paralyzed with admiration. You will not want to miss this production.”

American Business Women’s Day 2010

Set to Celebrate Outstanding Business Woman

Jennifer Jaciw

The Bay Area Council of the American Business Women’s Association will be holding their 27th Annual American Business Women’s Day Event “Rising Stars”. The luncheon celebration is set for Saturday, September 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Scott’s Seafood Restaurant (2 Broadway – Jack London Square, Oakland), to recognize three outstanding businesswomen.

The program will feature the three distinguished honorees speaking on their business success, while balancing career and personal needs. Their experience and story is valuable information to possibly transform lives. Honorees are Dr. Carole McKindley-Alvarez Psy. D, Consultant/Trainer, Jennifer Jaciw, Owner, Lone Star Limousine & Divalicious Productions, and Dr. Tina M. Roach-Gagnon, Santa Rita Chiropractic.

Jennifer Jaciw has overcome many hardships to own Lone Star Limousine and Divalicious Productions. From survival as a child of alcoholism and a young adulthood filled with domestic abuse, she helped to raise her younger sisters and then graduated early from high school to start working full-time. Happily married now, Jennifer transferred her struggles into wonderful achievements. Lone Star has won many awards as a ground transportation business and provider of successful ladies nights out events. They have been featured in The Wall Street Journal and have carried celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey. Her challenge now is a half marathon, and we know she’ll excel to the finish line.

Women’s Day is also a time to get to know women from all over the Bay Area. There will be a networking session, as well as a tradeshow featuring businesses from all over the entire region. It is a perfect time to come to meet new contacts; share expertise, services, needs; and to get tips on how to meet and exceed the challenges in everyday business life.

Well known speaker, Lina Lawson, past National President of ABWA, and their National Business Woman of the Year, will speak on how to be inspirational and motivating, while balancing your life’s challenges.

American Business Woman’s Day was established in 1983 by a joint resolution passed by both houses of the U.S. congress and a proclamation issued by President Ronald Reagan, as an opportunity to recognize more than 8 million women business owners and 72 million working women, for their contributions and achievements.

The mission of the American Business Women’s Association is to bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition.

Reservations for the American Business Women’s Day luncheon can be made by going online to www.ABWAWomensDay.event.brite.com. The cost of the luncheon and to hear the three honorees speak is $45.00 (before September 5th). Everyone is welcome. For more information about the American Business Women’s Day celebration, please contact Carol at 510-632-6668 or camojo@sbcglobal.net.

We're celebrating the sequel, Diva-style!

We're celebrating the sequel, Diva-style!

Viva La Diva; a sublime partnership of three women owned businesses, Lone Star Limousine, JewelSexpression and Bliss Parties Inc, threw their first party for wedding planners on January 13.

Since we do so many bachelorette parties and bridal showers, we thought it would be great to introduce some our favorite wedding planners to a taste of what a Viva La Diva can offer brides. It was a great party and it was SO NICE having everyone there!

We started at Thao’s Tea Treasure in Menlo Park, which is just lovely. I can see why it is such a popular place to host bridal and baby showers.

Ellie with Fogarty Winery provided delicious wine and has such a beautiful venue. That Redwood Room is just perfect for an intimate wedding or rehearsal dinner.

MeMe, Christine and Rose from Taste Catering did a wonderful job with their amazing appetizers. YUMM

And, of course the evening couldn’t be finished off better without Jen’s Cakes scrumptious variety of cupcakes.

The girls had fun with a mini boudoir dance demo and pleasure party. Julie and Chrystal are the absolute best at what they do.

And as for Lone Star, they experienced a stretch ride to and from- just one of the many vehicle styles we offer!

The Oatmeal Story

I had to share this from a post I did for my family transportation business:

Customer Service is the Key to our Success! In this economy, Above and Beyond service is expected to obtain and retain clients. Here are two stories that prove our commitment to providing an exceptional experience when working with us.

The Oatmeal Story

Client 1 is an eccentric gentleman who provides a list to his chauffeur of things he needs done once he boards his plane:

Go to Whole Foods and order a steel cut oatmeal with cinnamon and raisins

Go to Starbucks and order a non-fat cinnamon dolce latte

Go to the 24 Hour Fitness and locate the girlfriends car

Leave the oatmeal, coffee and attached handwritten note on the hood of the car at exactly 835am

We made it happen! And she was ecstatic.

Breast Pump Emergency

Client 2 is a busy lawyer whose wife is arriving at SFO at midnight. Her breast pump has broken during travel and she needs a replacement. This is not just any breast pump, this is the hands free deluxe model that runs $400! Our chauffeur went to Target, purchased the pump and had it in the car ready for our guest when she arrived.

I never question, comment or giggle when these requests come in because you just never know what someone is going to need or how important it is to them that it is provided. I can guarantee you these clients are going to remember us and the value added service we provided!

Please contact us if we can assist you with your transportation needs - no request is too big or too small! There’s a reason our clients call us their mobile concierge! www.lnstarlimo.com
