American Business Women’s Day 2010
Set to Celebrate Outstanding Business Woman
Jennifer Jaciw
The Bay Area Council of the American Business Women’s Association will be holding their 27th Annual American Business Women’s Day Event “Rising Stars”. The luncheon celebration is set for Saturday, September 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Scott’s Seafood Restaurant (2 Broadway – Jack London Square, Oakland), to recognize three outstanding businesswomen.
The program will feature the three distinguished honorees speaking on their business success, while balancing career and personal needs. Their experience and story is valuable information to possibly transform lives. Honorees are Dr. Carole McKindley-Alvarez Psy. D, Consultant/Trainer, Jennifer Jaciw, Owner, Lone Star Limousine & Divalicious Productions, and Dr. Tina M. Roach-Gagnon, Santa Rita Chiropractic.
Jennifer Jaciw has overcome many hardships to own Lone Star Limousine and Divalicious Productions. From survival as a child of alcoholism and a young adulthood filled with domestic abuse, she helped to raise her younger sisters and then graduated early from high school to start working full-time. Happily married now, Jennifer transferred her struggles into wonderful achievements. Lone Star has won many awards as a ground transportation business and provider of successful ladies nights out events. They have been featured in The Wall Street Journal and have carried celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey. Her challenge now is a half marathon, and we know she’ll excel to the finish line.
Women’s Day is also a time to get to know women from all over the Bay Area. There will be a networking session, as well as a tradeshow featuring businesses from all over the entire region. It is a perfect time to come to meet new contacts; share expertise, services, needs; and to get tips on how to meet and exceed the challenges in everyday business life.
Well known speaker, Lina Lawson, past National President of ABWA, and their National Business Woman of the Year, will speak on how to be inspirational and motivating, while balancing your life’s challenges.
American Business Woman’s Day was established in 1983 by a joint resolution passed by both houses of the U.S. congress and a proclamation issued by President Ronald Reagan, as an opportunity to recognize more than 8 million women business owners and 72 million working women, for their contributions and achievements.
The mission of the American Business Women’s Association is to bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition.
Reservations for the American Business Women’s Day luncheon can be made by going online to www.ABWAWomensDay.event.brite.com. The cost of the luncheon and to hear the three honorees speak is $45.00 (before September 5th). Everyone is welcome.
